Florida jazz musicians weighed in from all parts of the state to contribute to a new list of the Top 50 Jazz Albums Of All Time. From all-stars like Gary Burton and Turk Mauro, to local champions like guitarist George Grosman from Orlando and vocalist Sybil Gage from Cocoa Beach – all contributed their own lists of 10 favorite recordings; giving us insight into the music and legends that are important and influential to the people who actually make the music.
Album covers, recording history and commentary from the participants make this a jazz buff oasis; and a great starting place for music-lovers looking to build a jazz library of their own! A month-long endeavor – the poll was taken by Palm Coast Jazz – whose podcasts of original Florida music recently hit #1 in the jazz ranking. The full list can be viewed at palmcoastjazz.blogspot.com .
