Florida Hospital Celebration Health has built an innovative, new patient tower and emergency room that nearly doubles the hospital’s size. Previously, the hospital had 112 beds and with this expansion, an immediate 62 additional beds were added, bringing the total to 174.
According to census statistics, Osceola County has grown by more than 50 percent in the past 10 years. Florida Hospital Celebration Health is growing to meet the local demand for health care and also the increasing number of national and international patients it serves.
In addition to the increase in space and beds, the patient tower showcases advanced technology, like sensory lighting, that will help make nurse activity be of minimal disturbance to resting patients and a virtual concierge that assists patients and their families throughout their stay.
Florida Hospital Celebration Health will also be the first designated site by the Institute for Interactive Patient Care (IIPC) to house the first Interactive Patient Care Unit in the nation. It will serve as a living laboratory to test the latest technology and environments to optimize the ability for patients to be an active partner in the care they receive.
