Members of Florida’s delegation to the Democratic National Committee announced their opposition to removing DNC Vice Chairs Davig Hogg and Malcolm Kenyatta, emphasizing how divided Democrats still are as Republicans maintain total control.
According to the Florida Democratic Party, a majority of the delegation will vote “no” on any attempt or resolution to recall the Vice Chairs or to void the results of the elections of Vice Chairs David Hogg of Florida and Malcolm Kenyatta of Pennsylvania.
“The results of the DNC Vice Chair elections were clear, and the will of the voters should be respected,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “The Democratic National Committee has been in desperate need of young, innovative leadership, and David and Malcolm have worked to meet that need since day one. Tossing them out of office is unfair to them and an insult to the members they inspired to vote for them — members who adopted these rules themselves. A majority of Florida’s delegation will vote no on this resolution. We have work to do, and this isn’t it.”
“As we fight back against Donald Trump, it’s essential for young people to have a say in the future of the Democratic Party,” said Samuel Vilchez Santiago, Chair of the Orange County (FL) Democratic Party and Florida’s first Gen-Z DNC Member. “From different perspectives, David and Malcolm represent that future, and that’s why DNC members from all over the country elected them as DNC Vice Chairs just a few months ago. Removing them from office would be a slap to the face of young Democrats across the country. As Trump and the GOP are actively working to cut Medicaid funding, Democrats must support the next generation of leaders and focus on what actually matters to the American people.”

The DNC wants to remove David Hogg in part because he pledged to raise millions of dollars to challenge incumbent Democrats in Democratic Party primaries, while national party leaders want to raise and spend money defeating Republicans. Many Democrats do not want Democratic Party officials meddling in primaries and influencing votes, especially when their focus should be Republican opposition.
DNC Chair Ken Martin called on David Hogg to sign a neutrality pledge or resign from his position.
The DNC credential committee voted for a resolution to void David Hogg’s election and voted to recommend a new election, but it must be approved by a majority of the full DNC.
Fried Nikki and the DemocratSlaveryParty are ridiculous if not a clear and present danger to The Republic. Hogg is a grandstanding, attention seeker and a pathetic example of American manhood.
