Florida Democrats are going to Disney as the Democratic Party announced that Leadership Blue, their premiere annual fundraising weekend, will be held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando from May 3–5, 2024.
The Leadership Blue Gala will be held on the evening of May the 4th, which is also a special Star Wars day at Disney.
“Leadership Blue is the Florida Democratic Party’s most important fundraising event of the year,” said Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Phillip Jerez. “Democrats from Pensacola to Key West will gather in Orlando for the final time before the August primary elections, and the funds raised will play a critical role in our plan to take back Florida.”
According to the FDP, more event details, including the gala keynote speaker, will be announced at a later date.
“Last year, we shook up the formula for what a Florida Democratic Party fundraiser could look like — our sold out gala raised over three quarters of a million dollars in an action-packed evening featuring keynote speaker Bradley Whitford, multicultural creative talent from all across Florida, and the launch of our new party brand. We’ve got even more surprises in store this year for Florida Democrats, so make sure you get your gala tickets before they’re gone,” FDP Executive Director Jerez added.
Of course, Disney has been in a battle with Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, who ended Disney’s attempts to control its own special government and receive benefits not available to other businesses throughout Florida. A U.S. District Court Judge recently dismissed the federal case Disney brought against Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The Florida Democratic Party reserves the right to deny entry or remove any participant or ticket holder from the Leadership Blue Weekend event, and no refunds will be issued for any attendee who is denied entry or removed from any Leadership Blue Weekend event.
