Florida Democratic Party Announces Statewide Organizing Numbers to Show Momentum

The Florida Democratic Party recently announced statewide organizing numbers to show momentum.

Florida Democrats say they are heading into the general election more energized and organized than ever, ready to take on Republicans at every level from flipping the state and defeating Donald Trump, to stopping Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’ efforts and winning more local races throughout the Sunshine State.

Following the Democratic National Convention and the August primary elections, the Florida Democratic Party released the latest organizing numbers as of August 31st.

In August 2024, Democrats in Florida completed 400,000 door knocks, 1.3 million phone calls, and 4.8 million text messages. The FDP is seeing enthusiasm for Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign and hope to seize on the momentum.

“In the last month alone, Florida Democrats across the state have contacted millions of voters to get out the vote,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “We are seeing an unprecedented level of enthusiasm for the Harris-Walz ticket and we will continue this momentum as we head into the November elections.”

These organizing efforts resulted in a successful August primary election that saw victories for seven out of the 11 school board candidates that Florida Democrats supported, and the reelection of Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava with nearly 60% of the vote on the first ballot.

The latest numbers include organizing efforts reported by the Harris-Walz for Florida campaign, Florida Democratic county parties, candidates, and committees and show Florida Democrats ramping up statewide organizing efforts heading into November.
