Florida Democratic Party Announced Recent New Hires and Promotions

The Florida Democratic Party recently announced 11 new hires and promotions to elect Democrats and Kamala Harris.




The Florida Democratic Party is focused on elections in August and November, hoping to organize a statewide effort against Republicans and Governor Ron DeSantis. Florida Democrats reopened their voter protection hotline (833) VOTE-FLA or (833) 868-3352, open from 10am to 6pm weekdays with expanded weekend and Election Day hours to provide information and assistance to voters.

“The strength of our Florida Democratic Party staff is a testament to the energy that is here in Florida,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “We’re building a statewide team that is working tirelessly to elect Democrats up and down the ballot -— from Pensacola to Key West — and help elect Kamala Harris as President of the United States.”

Here are the 11 recent new hires and promotions at the FDP:

Steven Cary has joined the party as General Counsel. A native of Fort Myers, Cary  previously served as a Regional Voter Protection Director for the FDP in 2014 and 2016. Most recently, Cary was Legal Counsel for the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, and served as District Director for Congressman Charlie Crist from 2017-2022. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Florida Gulf Coast University and a J.D. from the Stetson University College of Law.

Jordi Zapata has joined the party as Political Director. A native of Dunedin, Zapata was most recently Legislative Aide to House Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell, after serving as Field Manager for Lindsay Cross (HD 60) and as a Program Fellow for Ruth’s List Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy and is the former president of the Hillsborough County Young Democrats.




Sam Fullam has been promoted to Data Director, after serving as Voter File Manager and Deputy Data Director since 2023. A native of York, PA, Fullam’s political experience includes stints with Deliver Strategies, Eugene DePasquale’s campaign for Pennsylvania Auditor General, and Jon Ossoff’s campaign for U.S. Senate.

Keith Moore has joined the party as Operations Director. A native of Tallahassee, Moore’s operations experience includes stints with For Our Future, the 2018 Andrew Gillum coordinated campaign, the 2016 Hillary Clinton coordinated campaign, and Gwen Graham for Congress. He holds a B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Florida and is currently completing a M.A. in Mass Communications from the UF College of Journalism.

Alexis Dorman has joined the party as Campus Voter Registration Director. A native of Orlando, Dorman is currently the president of the Florida College Democrats, and previously served as a legislative aide to State Rep. Johanna Lopez. She is currently completing a dual B.S. in International Affairs and Political Science from Florida State University.

Andres Cubillos has joined the party as North Florida Regional Voter Engagement Director. A native of Tallahassee, Cubillos is a member of the FDP Youth Council, and has worked with the Youth Action Fund, Campus Vote Project, Students Learn Students Vote Coalition, Student PIRGs, Transformative Justice Coalition, and Students Demand Action. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from Florida State University and is completing a M.S. in Applied American Politics and Policy from the FSU College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.

Paul De Stefano has joined the party as Central Florida Regional Voter Engagement Director. A native of Longwood, De Stefano’s previous political experience includes roles with For Our Future, NextGen America, Blue Velocity, and Karen Green for FL-7 in 2022. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Political Science.

Denisse Berrios has joined the party as South Florida Regional Voter Engagement Director. A native of Chile raised in Miami, Berrios is the Executive Vice President for the Miami-Dade Young Democrats, and her political experience includes field work for Tallahassee City Commissioner Jack Porter, Hillsborough County School Board Member Nadia Combs, and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. She graduated from Florida International University with a B.A. in International Relations.

Paige Brocker has joined the party as Executive Assistant. A native of Fort Myers, Brocker’s political experience includes field work for Leon County Commissioner Christian Caban and Leon County Commission Candidate Jay Revell. She holds a B.S. in Political Science and a M.S. in Applied American Politics and Policy from Florida State University.

Adrianne Weston has joined the party as Candidates and Campaigns Assistant. A native of Tampa, Weston’s political experience includes field work for Biden for President 2020 and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Journalism.

Sierra Holmes has joined the party as Special Assistant to the Executive Director. A native of Orlando, Holmes’ political experience includes an internship with State Rep. Anna V. Eskamani as well as service on the board of Ruth’s List Central Florida. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Political Science, where she served as Senate President and Black Caucus Chair at UCF’s Student Government.
