Florida Daycare Employee Sentenced for Lewd and Lascivious Molestation on Victim less than 12

A former Florida daycare employee was sentenced to prison for Lewd and Lascivious Molestation on Victim less than 12 years old.

At the conclusion of a full-day hearing, defendant Anthony Guadalupe was sentenced to 70 years in prison followed by lifetime sex offender probation. He will also be designated a sexual predator.

A St. Johns County jury in June found Guadalupe guilty of 12 counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation on a person less than 12 years of age, one count of Attempted Lewd and Lascivious Molestation and three counts of Committing Unnatural or Lascivious Act.

Guadalupe, a former daycare employee, committed the crimes during the summer of 2022 when he worked at Chappell Schools in the Durbin Crossing neighborhood.

“I am convinced that the defendant will always pose a serious danger to our communities,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “Folks who sexually abuse young children never change.”

The case was investigated by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Melissa Clark successfully prosecuted the case for the state. The Honorable Lee Smith presided over the case and pronounced sentence.
