Florida Classic Job Fair Today

The second annual Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Classic Career Expo & Diversity Job Fair in Orlando this weekend offers 3,600 real, solid, current job opportunities to jobseekers. The openings represent more than 60 employers in a variety of industries, and include many professional, high-paying and diverse positions.

“These 3,600 jobs, along with the career expo, really can hit many demographics and allow job seekers of all skill levels to ‘target’ companies that may be able to hire them,” states Roger Lear, President and CEO of OrlandoJobs.com.

A full listing of the open positions is available for jobseekers to download at www.orlandojobs.com/jobfair. The full list includes jobs in education, healthcare, IT, television, hospitality, engineering, sales and construction, as well as bilingual positions. Companies like Lockheed Martin, The Golf Channel, Home Depot, Chase, Orlando VA Hospital, Walt Disney, Verizon Wireless, McDonald’s, UCF and 60 other companies are attending.

Classic Career Expo & Diversity Job Fair

WHERE: Amway Center

DATE: November 18th

TIME: 11am – 3pm

COST: Free to for job seekers

“The job fair is a classic way for businesses and job seekers to meet, but with the highest unemployment numbers in decades, they have, in the last few years, become stale and futile exercises with no real job openings,” declares Lear. “We built the Classic Career Expo & Diversity Job Fair to upend that stereotype and showcase the wealth of jobs available in Central Florida right now. Considering the U.S. Economy only added 80,000 jobs last month, it’s pretty exciting to realize that right here in Orlando we have the potential to increase that by more than 4% in a single event.”

Planned around the weekend of the Florida Classic football match-up between Bethune-Cookman University and Florida A&M University, organizers of the November 18th event are also donating 60% of the proceeds from booth revenue to a scholarship fund that is split between the two schools.

This jobs fair and career expo, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, will feature educational sessions from Central Florida’s top speakers on subjects like job search strategies, career advice and resume information sessions. Free to the public, jobseekers are urged to sign up today.
