On Sunday the Bengel’s Burgers Five Guys franchise kicked-off its newest store opening, located at 2520 Orange Avenue, by feeding more than 100 families – nearly 500 people – affiliated with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. As part of the opening, Five Guys hosted a food drive for Second Harvest, collecting more than 400 pounds of canned products.
Dave Krepcho, president and CEO of Second Harvest, said, “During today’s family-friendly event and throughout the year, Five Guys helps us reach more of our neighbors in need. We are deeply grateful to the company for their generous support.”
Last year, Five Guys began donating 10 percent of all restaurant location sales to Second Harvest on the first Monday evening of each month. Since May 2009, Five Guys has donated more than $20,000 to the non-profit.
