Five Guys Burgers & Fries Opens 17th Central Florida Location

The Bengel’s Burgers Five Guys Burgers & Fries franchise recently opened its 17th Central Florida location. The new restaurant is located in Merritt Island (in Brevard County) at 500 East Merritt Island Causeway.

The new restaurant seats 100 people and the building is about 2,500 square feet. It also features the new Coca-Cola Freestyle. The machine offers more than 100 drink choices with an easy to use touch screen. Including this new location, the Bengel’s Burgers Five Guys franchise now employs 460 people across Central Florida. The franchise has 17 locations in Orange, Osceola, Volusia and Brevard Counties.

Bengel’s Burgers regularly gives back to the community in a variety of ways. In June 2009, the franchise began donating 10 percent of all restaurant location sales to Second Harvest Food Bank on the first Monday evening of each month. So far, the Bengel’s Burgers Five Guys franchise has donated more than $20,000 to the non-profit. They also regularly support various schools, churches and non-profit organizations.

Bengel’s Burgers recently won a statewide award from the Agency with Persons with Disabilities (APD) for their Disability Mentoring Program. The company employs at least two mentally disabled people at each location.
