Five people in South Florida have been arrested for drag racing and intersection takeover activity, according to law enforcement.
During intersection takeover enforcement operations in Miami-Dade, police arrested five people who are between 18 and 23 years old:
- 18-year-old Andres Culp, of Plantation: highway drag racing
- 19-year-old Cameron Lomax, of Miramar: drag racing; operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license
- 20-year-old Chelsy Gamez, of Miami: passenger involved in highway drag racing
- 21-year-old Jearial Garcia, of Margate: aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer; openly carrying a weapon; fleeing and eluding law enforcement; drag racing
- 23-year-old Joshua Dalmond, of Miami: drag racing
The Florida operation involved Homeland Security Bureau, Intelligence and Investigations Section, the Priority Response Team, Robbery Intervention and North Operations Division uniform patrol units, according to reports.
The results included 16 citations, one impounded vehicle, one seized gun and one juvenile curfew violation.
