Authorities say, fire broke out at a home in the 3000 block of Cypress Point Circle in St. Cloud, Tuesday evening.
The occupant of the home told investigators he was heating oil on a stove but had gone to visit a neighbor, when the house erupted in flames.
St. Cloud Firefighters quickly put out the fire and rescued four pets – two dogs and two cats – in the home. All four animals were given oxygen and survived the fire.
Authorities say, the occupant of the home suffered mild smoke inhalation and was treated with oxygen on the scene.
No emergency responders were injured.
The home was deemed uninhabitable given the extent of the fire damage in the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the house.
An investigation to determine the exact cause and origin of the fire, is ongoing.
