FHSAA Tennis Finals Back to Seminole County

More than 300 high school tennis players will converge in Seminole County for the FHSAA Tennis Finals April 15-19, 2013. This will be the 6th consecutive year that all four classification rounds will be held in Seminole County. The Class 1A and 2A finals will begin match play at Red Bug Lake Park in Casselberry and Sylvan Lake Park in Sanford. Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs will play host to the Class 3A and 4A finals.

“We are delighted to welcome back this championship event and their talented athletes to Central Florida,” said John Bisignano, President & CEO of the Central Florida Sports Commission. “We look forward to once again working with our partners in Seminole County and the FHSAA to ensure the success of this event, as we serve our mission to drive economic development through sports.”

Seminole County houses some of Central Florida’s premiere tennis facilities. Besides top level athletes and coaches, the event will attract families and spectators, bringing valuable revenue to the hotels, restaurants, and attractions of Seminole county. Initial estimates project that the FHSAA Tennis Finals will generate an estimated 600 room nights and approximately $400,000 of economic impact for the county.

“The Seminole County Convention and Visitors Bureau and our entire team is excited to once again have the opportunity to host the State’s best high school tennis players as they meet in Seminole County to compete for the 2013 FHSAA State Tennis Championships,” said Danny Trosset, Sales and Sports Marketing Manager.
