A woman was killed on the I-95 in Volusia County early Tuesday morning, after the vehicle she was driving overturned, FHP said.
40-year-old Blynda Murray, of Homestead, died on the spot, troopers also said.
Murray who was heading north on I-95, attempted to pass another vehicle and applied the brakes to avoid a crash, when she met with slower traffic.
She lost control of the 2002 Chevy SUV which left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree.
Murray was pronounced dead by the medical examiner just after 4:30 a.m. Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.
The crash occurred near State Road 44.
