FHP: Woman Killed After Crashing Into Front-End Loader

A 52-year-old woman died when she crashed into a parked front-end loader on US-1 Thursday morning.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Sherry Lamke, of Palm Bay, was heading northbound on US-1 near Pineda Causeway, when she drove into the rear of a front-end loader, parked on the east shoulder.

The crash occurred just after 11:30 a.m.

Lamke was driving a 2008 Suzuki, which on impact, caused the front-end loader to surge forward hitting two pedestrians standing in front.

Lamke was taken to Holmes Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The pedestrians, 21-year-old Jeremy Algario, of Sebastian and 48-eyar-old David Schrameck, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation.
