Troopers are still trying to identify a pedestrian who was struck and killed as he walked across State Road 50 near Econlockhatchee Trail, on Tuesday night.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said, 56-year-old Keith Uhley of Cape Canaveral was going east in the inside travel lane on State Road 50, when the front of his Nissan pick-up struck the unknown man. The crash occurred just after 10:30 pm.
Troopers said, the unknown pedestrian was walking northbound from the south shoulder to the north shoulder, exiting the Mobil gas station near Econlockhatchee Trail.
The unknown man was thrown several feet after he was hit, landing in the inside travel lane of SR 50. He was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
