Three persons were killed in a crash on Orange Blossom Trail (OBT) early on Friday, after a pick-up truck going in the wrong direction, slammed into a Toyota Corolla, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said.
Troopers are still trying to determine why the unidentified driver of a Chevy pick-up truck, who was killed after he struck a 2001 Toyota Corolla, was traveling northbound in southbound lanes on OBT, near Sprint Boulevard.
The front of the pick-up crashed into into the Toyota, driven by 21-year-old Charles Richard Diaz III, of Apopka, who was traveling southbound on OBT just before 1:00 am.
The pick-up overturned and caught fire and the driver burned beyond recognition. He has not yet been identified.
Diaz was killed on the spot.
A passenger in the Toyota, 21-year-old Daniel F. Morgan, of Apopka, was also killed in the crash.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
