Troopers are asking witnesses who might have seen a crash of a semi truck on Interstate 95, which killed the driver of a Mitsubishi, to come forward.
The crash occurred on Saturday in Volusia County, around 3:20 a.m., near mile marker 255.
Troopers said, 40-year-old Christopher White, of Titusville, driving a 2001 Mitsubishi, was stopped in an emergency lane of Interstate 95, when a semi truck drifted toward the emergency lane.
The front of the tanker, which was traveling northbound, struck the left rear of the Mitsubishi, and drove over it. Both vehicles came to a stop in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, troopers said.
White was pronounced dead at the scene.
40-year-old Frank Moceri, was driving the tanker, which was hauling liquid nitrogen. Troopers said, it’s not clear what caused Moceri, who was in the right through lane, to drift toward the emergency lane.
Anyone who might have witnessed this crash should contact Florida Highway Patrol at # 407-737-2213.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.
