An Orlando man who was driving in the wrong direction on State Road 50 was killed early on Monday morning in Brevard County.
Troopers said, Todd Allen Smith, 39, was traveling eastbound in the westbound on State Road 50 near Hacienda Drive, when he crashed into a semi truck heading westbound on State Road 50. The crash occurred around 4:45 a.m.
Smith was taken to Parrish Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The semi was being driven by Hubert Rios, 51, of Cocoa. Rios suffered no injuries as a result of the crash.
Troopers do not know why Smith was traveling in the wrong direction on State Road 50, but toxicology results are being awaited to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role.
