An elderly man was killed by a hit and run driver on Monday morning, as he attempted to cross State Road 50 in Orange County, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Angel Mojica Rivera, 82, was crossing the State Road 50, near Kirkman Road to got to the bus stop, when he was struck and killed by a Toyota Camry traveling westbound in the center lane. Â The front of the Camry struck Rivera, and the driver fled the scene.
Rivera was pronounced dead on the spot. Â The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m.
Troopers said, in an unrelated incident, a white Honda traveling westbound on State Road 50, noticed Rivera in the road way and stopped. That’s when an unknown pick-up truck struck the Honda and also fled the scene. The driver of the Honda, did not hit Rivera.
Florida Highway Patrol said, the crashes are being worked as two separate incidents.
