An elderly man was killed on Tuesday evening while attempting to cross the road on Orange County’s east side.
Troopers said, the unidentified man was crossing the eastbound lanes on University Boulevard near Golden Road, when he was hit by 54-year-old Diane Perkins, of Oviedo.
Perkins was heading east on University Boulevard, just after 6:35 p.m., when the accident occurred.
Troopers said, the man was not in a crosswalk and Perkins was unable to avoid hitting him. Â He was pronounced dead on the spot by the medical examiner.
The crash remains under investigation, but no charges are pending.
Florida Highway Patrol is still working to identify the man.
