A man who was driving drunk and killed a passenger in his vehicle as he made an improper U-turn, was arrested on Thursday, Florida Highway Patrol said.
23-year-old Patrick McCaul was arrested today and charged with DUI manslaughter and three counts of DUI with seriously bodily injury.
McCaul was driving drunk last July and attempted to make an improper U-turn on State Road 50, west of State Road 436. William Fulton, 20 years, a passenger in McCaul’s vehicle was killed after a Honda Accord struck the passenger side of the vehicle.
The crash occurred on July 31, just before 11:30 p.m., when McCaul and Fulton were traveling eastbound on SR 50 and McCaul attempted to make a U-turn to travel westbound.
Fulton died of his injuries on August 1, at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
McCaul’s blood alcohol level was .194.
McCaul was booked into the Orange County Jail around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. He is charged with DUI manslaughter and three counts of DUI with seriously bodily injury. Bond has not been set.
