They’re celebrating 60 years of educating students at Fern Creek Elementary School. Staff, students, parents and community members will gather for a celebration to mark the occasion.
Fern Creek Elementary has been a vital part of the northeast Colonialtown neighborhood since 1948. At that time, Fern Creek was built as a prototype school for the Orlando area.
The celebration will take place on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Fern Creek Elementary School (auditorium), 1121 N. Fern Creek Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32803 from 1:45 pm to 2.30 pm.
During the celebration there will be music, video clips of former and current students, a time capsule and cake.
The event is open to the community and media.
