The Federal government revealed today that some 22 million Americans contracted Swine Flu and close to 4,000, including 540 children have died from it.
These figures are quadruple the earlier estimates put out by authorities. However, the federal government says that it is not that the virus is spreading more quickly; rather the government is getting better at estimating the numbers.
There remains a shortage of vaccines to combat the virus and close to 42 million dozes are currently available.
A recent poll undertaken shows that one in six parents had some of their children vaccinated, while another 14 percent were looking for the vaccine, but couldn’t find it. The survey also showed that young adults are not likely to keep looking for the vaccine.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has indicated they are not able to say when Swine Flu infections would reach its peak.
