FDOT to Hold Public Hearing on Maitland Boulevard Project

 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public hearing regarding plans to widen Maitland Boulevard (SR 414) in Maitland. The study limits are from east of I-4 (Hope Road) to Maitland Avenue (County Road (CR) 427), a distance of approximately 1.2 miles.

The study team is evaluating the feasibility of widening Maitland Boulevard from a four lane roadway to a six lane, divided urban roadway. The improvements will also include intersection improvements and sidewalks. The design of Maitland Boulevard (SR 414) is funded in 2014. The project is not currently funded for right-of-way acquisition or construction.

The hearing is scheduled on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Congregation Ohev Shalom located at 613 Concourse Parkway South in Maitland. It begins with an open house at 5:30 p.m., where participants may review project documents and discuss the project with staff. There is a presentation at 6:30 p.m., after which participants may provide comments to all present. The hearing ends at 7:30 p.m.

Participants may also provide public comment directly to a court reporter at any time during the hearing. Written comments can be submitted at this hearing or by mail to; Mr. Chris Rizzolo, Consultant Project Manager at 719 South Woodland Boulevard, MS 1-501, DeLand, Florida 32720; no later than May 10, 2013. All comments, written and oral, will become part of the project’s public record.
