The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Five is holding an alternatives public meeting for the “Beyond I-4 Ultimate” Project Development & Environmental (PD&E) Study. This study focuses on the concept of adding express lanes on I-4, from US 27 to Kirkman Road/State Road (SR) 435 to the west, and from SR 434 to SR 472 to the east; a distance of approximately 50 miles.
FDOT is conducting this PD&E study to expand the limits of the I-4 Ultimate project. The I-4 Ultimate construction is scheduled to begin in fall/winter 2014. It will reconstruct the interstate as well as add four express lanes between Kirkman Road/SR 435 in Orange County and SR 434 in Seminole County.
This upcoming meeting focuses on the segment of I-4 from East of SR 434 to East of US 17/92 in Seminole County and provides interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.
The public workshop is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Hyatt Place located at 1255 S. International Parkway, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
