FDLE completes Report of Suspect Shot 100 Times

The report investigating the shooting death of a man in a hail of bullets by nine Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies in early January 2010 has been completed.  The report, undertaken by the Florida Department Law Enforcement (FDLE), was presented last week to Orange County Sheriff’s Office for review.

Torey Breedlove was shot at by nine deputies in a hail of 100 bullets after he attempted to ram his stolen vehicle into Orange County Sheriff’s deputies on January 5th.  The shooting, which took place at the Alta Westgate Apartment Complex at 6830 Alta Westgate Drive, left Breedlove, 27 dead.

The nine officers involved in the shooting had been reassigned to non-enforcement related duty for a minimum period of one week, pending completion of the investigation.

The report has also been forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office for third party review, said a statement by OCSO deputies.

OCSO said that there would be no further comments on the case at this time, as the incident is considered active and ongoing.
