FDLE: Central Florida Doctor Arrested, Accused of Kiddy Sex

A Central Florida doctor was arrested on Tuesday, accused of having sex with a minor and delivering drugs to her.

Dr. John Gayden, 58, of Indialantic, was arrested, after an investigation revealed he was one of the top prescribers of prescription pain medication in Brevard County, said Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

Gayden prescribed more than 250,000 oxycodone pills during an 8-month period, FDLE said, with patients receiving little or no medical evaluation. The investigation, which began in May, earlier this year, revealed Gayden was engaging in sex with a juvenile and provided her with prescription drugs.

Gayden was arrested at his office at at 1520 N. A1A, Indialantic, Fla., and booked into the Brevard County Jail.  He as been suspended from practicing medicine.

The investigation is ongoing.
