An Apopka man was struck and killed as he attempted to cross US 441 on Thursday night.
Troopers said, 30-year-old Justino Herrera Beltran was walking eastbound, attempting to cross US 441 when he was stuck by a 1993 Chevy. The driver of the Chevy was 49-year-old Bobby Floyd Durham, of Eustis, who was heading northbound approaching Junction Road.
Herrera Beltran was not in a cross-walk, troopers said.
Another vehicle also struck Herrera Beltran, this time, a semi truck, driven by 52-year-old Joseph DC Hardy, of Flint Michigan. Hardy also, was unable to stop before colliding with the victim for a second time.
Herrera Beltran was pronounced dead on the spot. Toxicology results are being awaited to determing whether alcohol played in role in the crash, which occurred around 7:30 p.m.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation. It is not likely that Durham or Hardly would be charged.
