FAMU Law Grad Recognized for High Florida Bar Score

Jennifer Nolander, FAMU Law graduate

The Fifth District Court of Appeal invited Florida A&M University College of Law graduate Jennifer Nolander to speak at the upcoming induction ceremony for new lawyers. This honor is bestowed upon those who score extremely high on the Florida Bar Exam.

“I am honored and humbled to have been among the higher scorers of the bar exam and to have been invited to speak at the induction ceremony for new attorneys by the Fifth District Court of Appeal,” said Nolander. “The countless hours, dedication and sacrifice were the keys to my success, and I look forward to practicing in the great state of Florida.”

The Cary, North Carolina native is a first-generation lawyer. She has been interested in law since childhood. In the third grade, Nolander recalls writing a paper about the first female Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.  As a police officer in Durham, North Carolina, Nolander decided to follow another path and moved to Florida to pursue a legal career. She worked as a part-time paralegal while attending FAMU Law.

“I worked very hard throughout law school to graduate as number one in the December 2021 class with nine book awards,” she added. “Putting in the time and preparation for the bar exam was not an easy task, but the feeling of finally becoming an attorney is an overwhelming success.”

Nolander is currently employed at McDonald Toole Wiggins where she works in products liability, premises liability and general liability.

Chief Judge Brian D. Lambert of the Fifth District Court of Appeal is scheduled to introduce Nolander at the induction ceremony. The ceremony is scheduled for 2pm on May 2nd in Daytona Beach, Florida.
