Falconer Decries County Policies, Promises Change

Mayoral candidate, Matthew Falconer believes the policies which have been put in place in Orange County need to change and he says that “taxpayers, not special interests, should come first.”  In an exclusive interview with West Orlando News, Falconer said that, the priorities of the County are misplaced.

“My slogan is taxpayers first because, right now our government puts special interest groups first,” Falconer said. “The government is giving arenas to billionaires, while not putting street lights and sidewalks in Pine Hills.  That is just bad public policy and our priorities are wrong.”

Falconer, who is a small businessman added that, for far too long, neighborhoods like Pine Hills, have been ignored.

“All their (Pine Hills) tax dollars are going to Downtown Orlando to build arenas, sports pavilions and corporate welfare projects for big companies,” Falconer observed.  “Pine Hills has been neglected for decades and so too have places like Bithlo, Christmas and Zellwood in East Orange County.  That is not fair.  We need to make sure that everyone is Orange County has an opportunity to get a good education, good jobs and a high quality of life.”
