OPD is seeking to apprehend a black man who attempted to abduct a 2-year-old child.
The tot was playing in the backyard at 2101 Las Palmas Drive, when his grandmother heard him scream.  She then ran to the front of the house and saw an unknown black man holding the child by the arm and walking him down the sidewalk.  The grandmother screamed at the suspect, who led the child go and then fled on foot towards Goldenrod Road.
OPD set up a perimeter around the area, including with K-9s.  A canvass of the area was completed by the Sex Crimes Squad.
The Sex Offender Squad also responded and made contact with every sex offender that fit the description within a 5 mile radius.
