Belinda Mills - ex-girlfriend and deputy- Arrested

Belinda Mills, 34 years, was arrested last night and charged with burglary and battery after she and Karen Cerezo, 41, reported to be the victim’s ex-wife, forcibly entered the East Orange County residence of a former boyfriend and attacked him.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call last night just after 7:00 PM from a friend of the victim who advised that the two women had barged into their apartment and were involved in a physical altercation with the victim, Richard Cerezo.     Upon arrival deputies were met outside the apartment by the two suspects who told them that they had been “strangled” by the victim.

After questioning the victim, the caller, and two teen aged children inside the apartment at the time of the attack, deputies arrested Mills and Cerezo and charged them with burglary and felony battery.  Both suspects were transported to and booked into the Orange County jail.

Belinda Mills has been on administrative re-assignment from deputy duties and could not employ law enforcement powers at the time of her arrest.   She is currently in a no pay status.  Mills, hired on in August 14, 2008, was in the process of being separated from the agency on February 17th for a non-workers’ compensation medical condition.
