Police have charged an Orlando man with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and battering her new boyfriend.
34-year-old Adrian Moen, of Orlando, faces several charges, including battery, burglary of a dwelling, aggravated assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and resisting an officer with violence, police said.
A police officer said, as he approached the residence, he heard a loud verbal altercation coming from inside the residence on Anissa Avenue around 2:30 am.
According to the Arrest Affidavit, police encountered Moen leaving through a back door carrying a large metal rod. Although the police officer ordered Moen to get on the ground several times and had removed his firearm from the holster, he resisted. The officer was able to conduct a leg sweep on Moen and get him to the ground, but not before he grabbed the officer’s radio mic from his neck lanyard. Backup officers were able to help subdue Moen as he continued to resist.
Moen’s ex-girlfriend told police she was awakened by a series of phone calls and got up to find Moen in her residence. She said she alerted a male friend in the home to hide. She told police that Moen kept stating that he was looking “for the other man.” Moen’s ex-girlfriend also told police eventually he broke down the bathroom door to find her male friend and Moen began hitting him. She and her young son, tried to come between the two men to stop the confrontation, Moen’s ex told police.
Moen told police that he came to the house and did not call anyone to let them know he was coming.
According to the Arrested Affidavit, Moen stated, “What would you do if you found out your soon to be wife was f***** a stranger?” He told police that he had a key to the residence and that he was “fuzzy” on events after he entered the residence.
“What would you do, officer? What would you do?” Moen asked the officer several times.
Moen was booked into the Orange County Jail around 5:30 am on Friday.
