Educational Background: I graduated from the University of Central Florida in December 1984, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Political Science. I entered the University of Florida College of Law in August 1985, and completed the three-year program in 2 1/2 years, earning a Juris Doctorate degree in December 1987. Since December 2006, I have attended in excess of 100 hours of judicial educational courses.

County criminal divisions are assigned traffic criminal matters, as well as misdemeanor cases (maximum jail sentence one year or less). Representative cases are DUI, resisting without violence, possession of 20 grams or less of cannabis, trespass, and petit theft. Courtroom responsibilities include presiding over arraignments, pretrial conferences, trials, pleas, violation of probation hearings, and suppression and other motion hearings.
