A suspect, who repeatedly stabbed an elderly man on Orange Avenue on Wednesday, is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, Orange County deputies said.
The stabbing happened on Orange Avenue near 6th Street, around 8:15 a.m., in the vicinity of the bus stop.
Deputies say, Thomas Thorpe, 50, was stabbing the elderly man when citizens who observed what was happening, stepped in to help.
A good Samaritan, who was driving by at the time, got out of his car and held Thorpe at gunpoint until deputies arrived.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital and is in stable condition.
Thorpe was taken into custody without incident. Investigators say, robbery was the motive behind the attack.
Thorpe, faces several charges, including attempted murder, aggravated battery and robbery. He was booked into the Orange County Jail and is being held without bond.
