Among several bills signed into law by Gov. Rick Scott late Friday was a bill (HB 943) that loosens some background screening requirements for caregivers who work with the elderly.
Also signed late Friday by the governor was a bill (HB 691) relating to beach renourishment, streamlining the permitting process for applicants seeking a coastal construction permit for such projects; a measure (HB 521), pre-empting the regulation of crane equipment to the state and a bill (HB 541) that will end the weekly revision of the Florida Administrative Weekly in print and make the Florida Administrative Code online version the official record.
