Eatonville Kicks Off Juneteenth Celebrations with Star-Studded Lineup

WHAT: Artists The Manhattans, The Dazz Band, Slave, Faze-O, Carl Carlton, Norman Connors and Tom Browne, Miles Jaye, and Maurice Starr’s new boy band NK5 will perform at the Eatonville Juneteenth Freedom Festival“Captain” Chris Hill, popular host of “Captain & Company In the Morning,” heard mornings on the web at OldSkool101.com, is the Master of Ceremonies.  DJ Willie C will play Old School R&B and Funk between the sets.

Gates open at 4 p.m. The concert starts at 6 p.m. Friday, June 20 and ends at midnight. Schedule and appearances are subject to change without notice.

WHO: Mayor Bruce Mount hosts this, the first of the Mayor Bruce Mount Series in Eatonville. Bizcard Express and Frankenberry & Associates are Event Sponsors of the Eatonville Juneteenth Freedom Festival.  Star 94.5 FM is the Media Sponsor.

WHY:  “It is significant that Eatonville, the oldest incorporated Black municipality in the country, has chosen to commemorate the anniversary of Juneteenth”, said Mayor Bruce Mount of Eatonville. “We invite all of Central Florida to join us at the Eatonville Freedom Festival.” This year marks the 149th anniversary of Juneteenth, which commemorates the emancipation of the slaves by President Lincoln.

WHEN: Friday June 20th 2014. Doors open at 4PM. The show starts at 6PM and runs until midnight. Photo ops with the bands will be available throughout the concert.

WHERE: The concert takes place on the football field of the Hungerford Prep School, 100 E. Kennedy Blvd, Eatonville. Media parking is located directly in front of the gymnasium. Access is available only to those who have been issued media credentials in advance. Please reply to this email no later than June 17th to request credentials.

Tickets are $35 for general admission prior to the day of the event and $45 the day of the show. A $100 VIP ticket permits guests to meet and greet the performers and includes two free drinks during the show.
