Today, Alvin Moore, candidate for Orange County Commission District 2, was re-elected without opposition to his Council seat in the Town of Eatonville. Moore was the only person to qualify for Seat 5 by the Noon deadline.
Moore, the Broker/Owner of Morehouse Realty, a real estate brokerage specializing in property management and REO sales, says he is proud to continue to serve Eatonville residents and looks forward to serving all residents of Orange County, District 2, when elected.
“I am humbled to be re-elected without opposition,” Moore said. “I have run for Town Council three times previously, losing my first race and winning my last two. This year is special because residents recognized that the Council is improving the community and they want me to finish my work here before moving on to the County Commission.”
Councilman Moore’s re-election without opposition is a rarity for Eatonville. He is the first councilperson to be unopposed in 12 years in the town, which is known for its highly contested elections.
“I could live anywhere in Orange County, but I chose to live in Eatonville to raise my two children,” Moore said. “This is where I grew up, working in my parents’ businesses on Kennedy Boulevard. I want Orange County to be a place where people can raise families with high quality jobs, safe streets and recreational activities for children and seniors.”
The election for Orange County Commission, District 2 will be held August 26, 2014.
