FLORIDIANS CAN HEAD TO POLLS FROM TODAY

Today, Floridians can head to the polls to vote early in the 2010 general election.  In one easy-to-use website, www.VoteAnywhere.org, voters can request a vote-by-mail ballot, find their early voting locations, and find out where to vote on election day.  Additionally, the League’s Voter Guide, which contains nonpartisan information about the Constitutional Amendments, statewide candidates, and Supreme Court Justices up for merit retention, is available to view and download.

“This election will provide Floridians with a historic opportunity to select an entirely new Cabinet as well as a new U.S. Senator.  We’re urging voters to prepare carefully and cast their ballot by mail, at an early vote location, or at their precinct on election day,” says League President Deirdre Macnab.

“With a limited number of candidate forums this year, it is more important than ever that citizens have a resource for information on candidates and other ballot decisions.  Our Voter Guide helps voters get past this season’s political TV ads and pre-packaged soundbites,” says Macnab.

The League’s voter assistance website can be found in English at www.VoteAnywhere.org and in Spanish at www.VamosAVotar.org. The League’s statewide speaker corps is available across the state to provide interviews on the ballot amendments or election related topics.
