Dyer updates Parramore Residents on Citrus Bowl Plans

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer on Tuesday joined Parramore neighborhood leaders and residents at his first Talks and Tours to give an update on the future plans for the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium.

The Talks and Tours program gave community leaders and neighbors in the Parramore community firsthand knowledge of the City’s plans for phase one improvements for the Florida Citrus Bowl.

Mayor Dyer also guided a behind the scenes tour showing attendees the work already underway at the Citrus Bowl and hosted an opportunity for questions and feedback.

“I am excited about the ability to share information face-to-face with residents about topics that directly impact their quality of life through the Talks and Tours program,” said Mayor Dyer.  “It is important to connect residents to their City government and engage them in what is going on in their neighborhood.”

The City will complete $10 million in the first phase of planned enhancements including structural work, lighting and technology that will allow the Citrus Bowl to remain competitive in attracting world-class events and Bowl Games.

Currently, the stadium is home to the annual Capital One and Champs Sports Bowls, Florida Classic Bethune-Cookman vs. Florida A&M football game and other events.
