Dyer to Deliver State of Downtown Address

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will deliver his 2012 State of Downtown Address on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, on the floor of the LEED Gold Certified Amway Center.  This annual event held by the Downtown Orlando Partnership provides a forum for Mayor Dyer to share the City’s progress on the revitalization of Downtown Orlando with Central Florida residents, business owners and downtown workers.

This year’s topic will focus on the City’s Green Works Orlando initiative and will be highlighted by featured speaker, Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, who will speak about the role of the federal government in partnership with cities like Orlando to develop and meet sustainability goals.

At this year’s address, Mayor Dyer will also announce the launch of the next phase of Green Works Orlando – community engagement and planning.  This sustainability plan will serve as a road map to steer future policies, developments and investments.

Since 1982, the Downtown Orlando Partnership (DOP) has held the State of Downtown Address as their annual fundraising event.
