Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will become an honorary Stormtrooper and member of the 501st Legion today, in a presentation at City Hall Plaza.
Orlando Science Center President and CEO JoAnn Newman along with members of the Makaze Squad of the 501st Legion, Florida Garrison will induct Mayor Dyer into their ranks with a brief ceremony.
Today’s presentation is part of the celebration leading up the premier of Star Wars®: Where Science Meets Imagination – the new blockbuster exhibit at Orlando Science Center, which will open to the public for a limited engagement on Saturday, October 13.
Mayor Dyer will also proclaim Saturday, October 13, as “Star Wars®: Where Science Meets Imagination Day” in the City of Orlando.
