Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, joined with City Commissioners Daisy W. Lynum and Samuel B. Ings and Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney, to officially open the newly relocated community police office for the southwest section of the City.
“The opening of this expanded community police office will provide our police officers with more resources to continue protecting the southwest community,” said Dyer. “Through projects like this, the City of Orlando continues to be relentless in our efforts to keep Orlando safe and keep crime out of our neighborhoods.”
The relocation provides a permanent space and expanded community police office to serve the visitors, residents and businesses in the southwest section of the City of Orlando, while increasing response times and police presence in those neighborhoods.
More than 130 patrol officers will be working from the expanded Southwest Community Police Office. The office will offer walk-in community services including fingerprinting, crime prevention education and payment collection. It will also includes a community room, which will be available for neighborhood and local business meetings and gatherings.
