Dyer, Orlando Residents to Bike to Work

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orlando residents celebrate 2009 National Bike Month with 'Bike to Work Day'

In celebration of National Bike Month in May, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is encouraging all citizens in Central Florida to ride a bike to work and take an active role in reducing the impact on the environment.

Mayor Dyer will celebrate “Bike to Work Day” by leading a bike ride from Dartmouth Park in the College Park neighborhood to City Hall in Downtown Orlando. As part of the event, participants will also receive coffee or tea from Starbucks, bike tune-ups from Kyle’s Bike Shop and a one-way LYNX bus pass to College Park.

Last year, 190 cyclists participated in this annual event.

WHERE:
Mayor Dyer and Orlando citizens will leave from Dartmouth Park (822 Dartmouth Street) with a final destination at City Hall (400 South Orange Avenue).

WHEN:
Friday, May 25, 2012
Participants will gather at Dartmouth Park starting at 7:30 a.m.
Ride starts at 8:00 a.m. at Dartmouth Park with arrival at City Hall at approximately 8:30 a.m.
