Dyer Hosts 6th Annual Neighborhood, Community Summit

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will host the 6th Annual Neighborhood and Community Summit: Informed-Connected–Involved tomorrow, Saturday, May 14, at the Doubletree Hotel.

5th Annual Neighborhood & Community Summit

The Summit brings together civic, arts and cultural, community-based, faith-based and neighborhood leaders and volunteers to gain share information on community building and civic engagement.  It also provides an opportunity to learn more about City programs, initiatives and resources that will help guide neighborhood and community organizations towards making a greater positive impact in our community.

For the first time the Neighborhood Champion Award and Community Builder Award will be presented to formally recognize one neighborhood leader and one community leader for their contributions to the Orlando community.  The Neighborhood Champion award will be awarded to a city resident that has demonstrated exemplary dedication and commitment to neighborhood improvement and sustainability.  The Community Builder Award will recognize an individual who has had a significant impact on the well-being of our community.

WORKSHOPS:

A variety of neighborhood engagement workshops, best practices and networking opportunities are available for attendees. Different workshops will be offered including:

• Running Effective Neighborhood Organization Meetings
• Grant Writing to Win
