Dwight Howard Attorneys File Lawsuits

Attorneys for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard have filed two lawsuits in Orange County Circuit Court against his 2 year-old son’s mother. The two suits claim that Royce Reed denied Howard his visitation rights, and made negative statements about Howard on a message board on LipstickAlley.com.

A report on Web site TMZ.com claimed that Howard sued Reed for $9.2 million in damages for defaming his character in Orange County, California. Howard told the Orlando Sentinel that he didn’t know of any suit filed in California.

Nevertheless, Howard’s lead attorney C. Anthony Mulirain issued a statement to the Sentinel, “It is regrettable that Mr. Howard who is the plaintiff in both lawsuits has been forced to commence legal action against Ms Reed. However, to Mr. Howard spending time with his young child is very important and he is committed to pursuing these rights in court, if necessary.”

According to Mr. Howard’s lawyers, Ms Reed has violated a parenting agreement that says Howard can care for their son on alternate weekends, Wednesday overnights, and on some holidays. Howard’s attorneys have asked the court to compel Ms Reed to comply with the terms of their agreements.

On the other hand, Ms Reed was shocked with the suit, because there was no attempt to talk to her concerning the issues in the suit. At this point there is a restraining order between Ms Reed and Mr. Howard. This is probably the reason that attorneys are doing the talking for everyone involved in the suit.
