An Orange County Sheriff’s deputy was hit as he directed traffic in the Full Sail parking lot on 141 University Park Drive on Thursday morning.
Troopers said, Deputy Eriberto Alemany, 48, of Orlando suffered minor injuries after he was struck by a car driven by 21-year-old Leonid R. Melikho, of Winter Park.
Deputy Alemany was directing traffic at an intersection within the Full Sail parking lot, when Melikho failed to negotiate around him to travel north on 141 University Park Drive. The left side of Melikho’s 2006 Lexus and the left side mirror collided with Deputy Alemany, who suffered minor injuries. The deputy was taken to Florida Hospital Winter Park for treatment.
Melikho was cited for careless driving.
