Driver Killed in 3-vehicle Crash in Osceola County

fatal_accident_generic_02_med-3Charges are pending in a three-vehicle crash that left killed a driver in Osceola County on Sunday, Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers have not released the identity of the male driver of the Hyundai Sonata, one of the vehicles in the crash, that was pronounced dead by the Medical Examiner, on State Road 60 near Peavine Road.

Troopers say, Keith Laine, 30, of Davenport, who was driving eastbound on State Road 60 behind the Hyundai Sonata, failed to slow down and struck the rear of the vehicle.

After the crash, the Hyundai Sonata was redirected into the westbound lanes and collided head on with a Ford pickup driven by Hunter Collinsworth, 16, of Avon Park.

The male driver of the Hyundai Sonata, who has not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin, died on the spot.

Collinsworth and two other passengers, Dylan Cook, 15, of Avon Park and Conner Smith, 16, of Forth Walton Beach, were unhurt.

Laine suffered minor injuries and was taken to Indian River Hospital.

Troopers say, the crash remains under investigation and charged are pending.
