A man who struck and killed a teenager as he walked to his bus stop on Valencia College Lane last November, was arrested for fleeing the scene, troopers said.
Florida Highway Patrol arrested 30-year-old Eric Wydra on Thursday, for leaving the scene of a fatal crash in which 15-year-old Anthony Rodriguez was killed on November 3, 2010.
Anthony’s 15 year old brother Miguel, was also struck when Wydra’s 2001 Pontiac Grand Am left the roadway and struck the two brothers as they walked in the grass to their bus stop.
A retired firefighter spotted Wydra’s crashed vehicle in a parking lot at Hoffner Road and Conway Road several hours later.
Eric Wydra was booked into the Orange County Jail on $2,600.00 bond. If convicted he faces thirty years in prison.
